VOCGEN Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

Clean Recycled Energy

VOCGEN CHP technology abates pollutants and cogenerates electricity  and heat for use on site by burning high-Btu value VOCs as fuel in addition to natural gas.  On site energy generation (CHP) displaces inefficient conventional power generation which significantly reduces regulated air emissions and  carbon dioxide.

CHP is the simultaneous generation of heat and power.  CHP is an energy

efficiency resource for industry. CHP plants have very high thermal efficiency and

reductions in carbon emissions when compared to conventional generation and

is found to be feasible under the following circumstances:

  • Replacement of old steam generators and thermal oxidizers

  • Demand for steam for building/process heating and cooling
  • Demand for electricity
  • Control of energy costs
  • Opportunities to sell power and/or heat

VOCGEN CHP clean energy is an environmentally friendly method of efficient generation of onsite energy.  Based on the longstanding utilization of hydrocarbon solvents (VOCs) critical to the manufacture of cost effective and high quality products, VOCGEN CHP utilizes high-Btu VOCs as a non-polluting energy source via energy recycling.

Climate change concerns coupled with high fuel prices, peak oil and increasing government support are driving the increase of renewable and energy efficiency legislation, incentives and commercialization of emerging technologies.

VOCGEN CHP can enable the following manufacturing plant improvements:

  • Energy conservation
  • Energy security
  • Increased plant efficiency & reliability
  • Predictable cost of operations

  • Low harmonic distortion - pure power

               for sensitive instrumentation and

electronics and maximizing overall life of

               motors and controls

  • Reduced ozone emissions
  • Reduced carbon dioxide, CO and NOx emissions
  • Increase in competitiveness and profitability
  • Use of alternate biofuel(s)

VOCGEN gas turbine generator packages are embodied within skid-mounted, sound-attenuated and environmentally protected enclosures. The "gensets" utilize commercially available components; require simple installation; and are designed for outdoor installation for projects with a 20-year life.

Intregrated equipment including heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), VOC concentrators, combined-cycle steam turbines, heat exchangers, etc., are pre-packaged and certified prior to shipment for fast installation and startup at client sites.
